As a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, I have a strong academic foundation in science, particularly in biology and general life sciences. I strive to help students achieve in their own studies. Additionally, I previously completed CNA training and held certification, giving me hands-on experience with anatomy, physiology, and healthcare fundamentals that many high school or pre-nursing students study.
Much of my professional experience has centered around working with children and teens in educational and recreational environments. For over six years, I’ve worked for the City of Henderson in various leadership roles at youth camps and recreation programs. In these roles, I coordinated educational activities, provided one-on-one support for campers, and adapted my communication style to meet the needs of different age groups and learning styles. While I have not formally tutored before, I’ve taught through action—explaining concepts clearly, encouraging curiosity, and guiding young learners to find confidence in themselves. My coworkers have often noted my patience, creativity, and ability to connect with students who need a bit of extra encouragement.
As a tutor, I strive to create a welcoming, low-pressure space where students feel safe asking questions and making mistakes. I know from experience that learning is not one-size-fits-all. My approach is adaptive, student-centered, and rooted in building strong foundations—whether we’re tackling biology homework, preparing for a test, or working on study skills. To help students feel confident before committing, I offer two free 30-minute sessions: the first is for getting to know your learning style, and the second is personalized support based on what we learn together.
