Hello, and welcome!
My name is Michelle, and I’m an experienced educator with a PhD in Educational Leadership and Administration from New Mexico State University, along with a Master’s degree in History and Criminal Justice and a strong background in Sociology, Women’s Studies, and History. I’ve spent years working with students across many age groups and academic levels, from elementary learners building foundational skills to college students and adult learners refining advanced research and writing. My academic training allows me to see learning from multiple angles, and I enjoy helping students make connections between ideas rather than simply memorizing facts.
As a certified K–12 teacher, I bring real classroom experience into every tutoring session. I understand that no two students learn the same way, and I tailor my approach to fit each learner’s needs, goals, and confidence level. Some students need concepts broken down step by step; others benefit from discussion, examples, or guided practice. I’ve supported students with history and social studies content, academic writing, critical thinking, and research skills, always focusing on clarity, organization, and understanding rather than rote answers.
My tutoring style is collaborative, patient, and encouraging. I work to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking intellectual risks. Whether you’re a parent seeking help for your child, a high school student preparing for exams, a college student working on papers, or an adult returning to education, my goal is to help you feel capable and confident in your learning. Together, we’ll identify what’s challenging, build a plan that works for you, and make progress you can see.
I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals and develop skills that will serve you well beyond a single assignment or test.
