Hello. My name is Jovanna. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in History, Secondary Education and Mathematics. I am a level II certified teacher in the state of New Mexico and am certified to teach K-6, middle school mathematics, history, and English, and high school mathematics, history, and English. I taught high school mathematics for three years and middle and high school mathematics for one year. While teaching, I went to school for my Masters degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
I currently work for the state of New Mexico as an Accountant and Auditor. Of all the subjects I am certified to teach, mathematics is my passion. Ever since I was a primary and secondary school student, mathematics was my favorite subject. I wanted to teach mathematics because I had excellent mathematics teachers in elementary, middle, and high school, and I wanted to have that same positive impact on students. I utilized the I do, we do, you do method while teaching and bring that same method to tutoring students today.
