Hi, my name is Momoko. I am a Japanese teacher with over five years of experience. I currently live in the USA with my family.
I started teaching Japanese because I wanted to teach it to my kids. Since they were born in the USA, they can naturally pick up and learn English, but that’s not the case for Japanese. I wanted them to learn my mother tongue so they could communicate with my family in Japan.

As I began teaching, I realized that teaching Japanese is very interesting to me. So, I decided to go to university and get certified in teaching Japanese.
I am certified in the Japanese Language Teacher Training Program with a major in Modern Social Studies. I passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test administered by the Japan Educational Exchange and Services in October 2022.
I am responsible for teaching both general and business Japanese to professionals, helping them enhance their language proficiency. Additionally, I have experience teaching Japanese to a diverse range of learners, from children to adults, both in person and remotely.
For beginners, I use books like 'Minna no Nihongo' and 'Genki,' but my main focus is helping you speak Japanese right from the start.
For kids, I make learning fun with songs, games, and cool activities. I believe learning a language should be exciting, and I always try to make sure my students enjoy the lessons.
I’m applying for this role because I’m passionate about teaching Japanese and helping students improve their skills.
