I am a retired Marine communications manager, also retired from the electronics industry. During my Marine Corps career, I taught many young Marines in a wide range of subjects, from tactics to electronics and communications. I was selected as a Discussion Leader in the Marine Corps Human Relations Program, a necessity during a period of distrust and negativity among many younger Marines and the general problems which result when there are misunderstandings between military personnel and civilian employees. My classes were popular, and there was a waiting list to participate when I was scheduled as the leader. During my career, I also worked in my free time with the Boy Scouts of America, holding various positions including merit badge counselor and Scoutmaster. I moved into the electronics industry after Marine Corps retirement, holding responsible jobs in purchasing, logistics, customer relations, property management, safety and quality management. During that time I was also active as a member of the national board of Presbyterian Men, a position I still hold. Until about two years ago I continued to be active in Scouting, spending my last years in fundraising. I retired from that volunteer service after more than 40 years of service.

I have always liked working with young people, from church activities to community events and the Science Fair, where I have been a judge for over 20 years. I have been a volunteer counselor for high school students in their preparation for employment, career planning and education. For many years, I have been a selectee in various Who's Who publications, from Who's Who in the West to Who's Who in Professional Management, International. I currently serve on six boards and am active with the Friends of the Library, where my wife and I were selected as Volunteers of the Year several years ago. My wife is now a resident in a home for dementia patients and I live alone with my two cats. I am still very active in my church and enjoy working with young people. I am a communicati
