Hi! I’m Jessie, a current school principal and former math teacher with over 15 years of experience helping students succeed—especially those who feel behind, frustrated, or overwhelmed.
I specialize in working with students in grades 6–10 who are struggling with math or preparing for assessments like the SAT, state, or classroom tests. My approach is simple: build understanding first, then confidence, then results. Many of my students come to me feeling stuck or discouraged, and within a few weeks, they’re participating more, completing work independently, and improving their performance.
🎯 What I Help With
Math support (Grades 6–10)
Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and foundational skills
Digital SAT Math prep
Test-taking strategies and confidence building
Support for students who feel “behind” or struggle with math anxiety
I focus on helping students understand why math works—not just memorizing steps—so they can apply skills independently.
🌟 Results & Testimonials
Jessie has been an outstanding math tutor for our twins as they made the move from private to public school and on into Jr High and High School. Jessie’s innovative approach to communication and teaching is nothing short of amazing. She has a unique ability to meet students where they are, and this was especially evident in her work with my dyslexic son. She patiently and creatively adapted math concepts in ways that made them accessible and understandable, building both his skills and his confidence. At the same time, she challenged and supported my daughter, ensuring both of my children stayed engaged and continued to grow. She went the extra mile by working with them over the summer, studying the curriculum, and even communicating with their teachers to better support their learning. Jessie quickly became more than a tutor, she became a valued part of our family, and we’re incredibly thankful for her. -Beth Zimmerman
