I have been an educator since 2008 and have over 18 years of classroom teaching experience. I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading, as well as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification.
Throughout my career, I have primarily taught elementary and middle school students in public schools. I spent nine years teaching 6th grade in a self-contained classroom, where I taught reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. I recently transitioned to teaching 4th grade, allowing me to expand my experience with younger learners and strengthen foundational academic skills.
My teaching experience includes working with students of varying ability levels, including struggling learners, English language learners, and students who need additional academic support. I regularly provide small-group and individualized instruction, differentiating lessons to meet each student's unique learning needs. My teaching focuses on building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping students become independent learners.
In addition to my classroom experience, I provide one-on-one tutoring both in person and online. I create personalized lessons based on each student's strengths, learning style, and goals. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and interactive, and I use a variety of strategies, including guided practice, hands-on activities, games, and real-world examples to help students master concepts while building confidence.
My goal as a tutor is to help every student feel successful, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential.
