I grew up in a very academic family. My mother was a teacher and her love for helping students has been passed down to me. While I was in high school I tutored for 4 different semesters, working with third, fourth and sixth graders. It was a wonderful experience for me. For a time I thought of going into the College of Education at the University of Iowa but chose Communication Studies instead to allow me a variety of job opportunities after graduation.

I love tutoring because seeing the progress a student makes is a rewarding feeling. It takes courage to seek out help in academics and I respect any individual who strives to be the best they can. When a student gains more confidence from the help and assistance I can provide, I feel a great sense of achievement. That is why I have a passion to help others.

Having a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Political Science I feel I'm a well rounded individual to provide tutoring in different studies. Reading and literature are a very strong point for me as I have a passion and respect for both fields. Along with my Communication Studies degree public speaking was a major focus of mine. Being able to communicate with confidence and is an excellent life skill that lasts forever.

I would love any student to reach out to me who feels I could benefit them in any way. I am eager to teach and help every student master what they want in life.
