I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology and a Master’s degree in Information Technology from New Mexico State University. My graduate coursework included advanced studies in cybersecurity, networking, information systems security, systems administration, risk management, and enterprise IT infrastructure. I have also completed graduate-level cybersecurity coursework that aligns with CompTIA Security+ continuing education requirements.
In addition to my academic background, I have professional experience working in Information Technology within a medical environment, where I supported users, resolved technical issues, worked with computer systems and networks, and assisted with maintaining secure and reliable IT operations. My experience also includes technical troubleshooting, customer support, systems administration concepts, and working with end users in professional settings.
I tutor students in Information Technology, cybersecurity fundamentals, networking, computer basics, CompTIA certification preparation (A+, Network+, Security+), and IT career development. I enjoy helping students understand difficult technical concepts by breaking them down into simple, real-world examples and step-by-step explanations. My teaching approach focuses on patience, hands-on learning, guided practice, and adapting lessons to each student’s experience level and learning style.
My teaching and mentoring experience includes one-on-one instruction, peer assistance, technical guidance, and helping individuals prepare for coursework, certification exams, and IT career opportunities. I work well with high school students, college students, adult learners, and career changers entering the technology field. I particularly enjoy helping beginners build confidence in technology and cybersecurity concepts.
