Emma earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, graduating Cum Laude from California State University of Bakersfield, where she first developed a passion for teaching and mentorship through her work as a tutor and supplemental instructor. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she continues to combine her academic achievements with her dedication to supporting student learning. Throughout her education, she has been recognized for both her academic excellence and commitment to student success, receiving numerous honors including the Yate’s Scholarship, Mission Impact Scholarship, and recognition as a Student Researcher of the Year Finalist.

Emma’s teaching experience spans over seven years and includes roles in tutoring, mentoring, and supplemental instruction at both the undergraduate and medical school levels. At California State University of Bakersfield, she tutored upper-division courses in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry and served as a supplemental instructor for Pre-Calculus and Microbiology, using active learning approaches such as process-oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL), augmented reality, and competency-based education. She also supported student-athletes in balancing academics with athletics, emphasizing organization and conceptual understanding. Currently, as a tutor at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, she mentors pre-clinical students in Psychiatry, Endocrinology, OMM, and Reproductive Medicine, as well as privately tutoring second-year medical students across the country in preparation for COMLEX Level 1.
