Hello! I'm an English and Reading teacher with over 10 years of experience in education. I hold teaching licenses in both New York and New Mexico. I taught middle school and high school English and Reading classes for many years in NY. I moved to NM last year and now I work as the English teacher in a unique high school drop out recovery program. One of the aspects I love the most about this school is the one on one time I get to spend helping my students and the relationships I develop with them as individuals!
I'm interested in tutoring because I love to educate students on a one to one basis, which allows me to better meet their needs. Tutoring allows me to focus all of my attention and efforts on just one student at a time. I enjoy working with students of all ages, but am most experienced working with middle and high school students.
I love teaching and tutoring in English and Reading because I'm passionate about literature, writing, and helping students become better readers and writers. I have years of experience teaching a variety of literature and writing skills. I'm also a creative person and I love to help nurture a student's creative skills and thinking as well!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
