Majoring in Spanish, and Geography with an emphasis in travel and tourism as well as my 9 years teaching and tutoring have prepared me well to be your guide.
Having had a fantastic experience in high school Spanish I committed to majoring in Spanish. Learning a second language changed the way I saw the world and broadened my communications skills in both languages. After majoring in Spanish I taught high school Spanish levels 1-5 and received a “Teacher of the Year” award. While language comes easily to some, it was challenging to me. This made me a better teacher/tutor because I understood how confusing it could be and developed ways to engage all students.
Communication skills are needed in all areas of life. Seeing students improve in their language skills encourages me because it will help them throughout their lives. I have taught and tutored reading, spelling, writing and grammar for four years to students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Over the years I have developed engaging ways to learn, remember, and execute the many different rules and guidelines of the English language.
