Teaching Phonics is one of the core principals in my preschool classroom. I am a strong believer in phonetic training, that children must have some means of attacking strange words. Teaching does depend on the level the child is at. In my preschool class, we start at the core with learning alphabet letters and the sounds they make. Blending, decoding and rhyming words are other activities I use, along with lots of reading and writing.
