I started to tutor when I was an undergraduate student at UNM. After graduation, I moved to Panchiao, Taiwan where I taught ESL for two years. I moved to Wisconsin when my contract overseas was up and attended the University there where I received my Masters degree. I also taught ESL at the University's English Language Institute for 2 and a half years. Because it gets so bitter cold in Wisconsin, I couldn't wait to move back to sunny Albuquerque. I took a teaching position at Queen of Heaven, and, believe it or not, I love teaching middle school! I stayed there for four years teaching English and literature. At the same time, I began teaching writing at CNM and UNM. After taking several years off from the classroom, I began tutoring again two years ago. I love the one on one tutoring opportunities the best! I am an excellent, experienced, and memorable tutor!
Knowledge, experience, humor and patience
Having taught students from all over the world, I quickly became familiar with cultural learning behaviors. This lead to an in depth analysis of basic learning behaviors in students in primary, secondary, and advanced levels of Education. This has made an effective tutor whether I am preparing students for tests, guiding them through readings, or helping them with projects and writings.
I also have the rare ability to make grammar fun.
