Hello Prospective Student,

My name is Karen and I am head special education teacher at an elementary. I have a master's degree in special education and I work with students with varying disabilities. I have worked with students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, in general education, emotional disabilities, visual impairments, Downs syndrome, and students who are nonverbal. I love teaching and look forward to working with your student.

I have tutored a student in seventh grade Math and English. I brought her grades up from 30% to Bs and Cs in two months. I created a notebook full of math formulas and step-by-step instructions for solving different problems. I currently have an eight grade student who now excels at math.

I have taken several courses where I have learned many different ways to approach the same subject. Every student learns in a different way. I can easily adapt to the way you learn and show you how to convert the material into the proper format. I strongly believe that understanding the material thoroughly is the most important part of education. I encourage your involvement in the learning process. I create and customize worksheets with several examples and strategies for learning materials. I have a great deal of patience and exciting new approaches to learning.

I excel at Math and English. I have taken several Communications courses in college which has helped me to become great at public speaking. I was raised with an editor as a mother so my proofreading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and writing skills are excellent. I enjoy teaching and helping others achieve their educational and personal goals.
