Greetings!
Let me tell you a bit about myself so you can make the best decision for you and/or your student. I have worked in education for many years, beginning as an Early Childhood Educator. Later, I returned to graduate school and obtained several teaching degrees including working with special needs students. At that time, I tutored students of all ages. For the past eight years I have worked in Museum Education, developing curriculum, informal science kits, bilingual family learning events with libraries and other museums. Last summer I managed the junior docent program at our museum; currently I co-teach Youth Ed at our spiritual center. I love learning and I love working with children of all ages.
My basic approach:
1. Help you understand your learning style, your strengths and weaknesses.
2. Provide tools to help you organize your approach to the learning task.
3. Create a plan and develop study skills that match your needs and style.
I like to work with the materials and content provided by the school.
My strength is to help you understand the task, create a successful plan and follow it through to success.
My belief - learning should be fun; challenges are mysteries to solve. I provide the tools, perspective and experience. The more we can work "hands-on", the better.
My strongest subject is English: reading, writing, comprehension AND speaking. If you have a special project in any subject, I can definitely help you. I will take basic math and science students and special needs students are welcome.
I look forward to exploring the possibilities.
