I've been teaching English for about ten years, online and in person. More than 9,000 individual lessons at this point. Currently most of my students are adults. I've been teaching English for about ten years, online and in person. More than 9,000 individual lessons at this point. Currently most of my students are adults. Recently that's meant an electrical engineer, a linguistics professor, a product manager, a professional musician, people in tech and medicine. Working people who need English for their actual lives.
I'm a language learner myself. I've lived in seven countries, and I know the specific frustration of being a capable adult who sounds less intelligent in a second language than you actually are. A grammar workbook doesn't fix that. Using the language for something interesting does.
The complaint I hear most from students about past tutors is that the conversations are always the same. Weekend, weather, work, repeat. So my lessons are built around subjects worth your attention: your field, current events, history, art, whatever you're genuinely curious about. Along the way I correct the errors you've stopped noticing, push your vocabulary, and tell you the truth about your progress. If you need help with practical things like emails, presentations, or interviews, we work on those too.
One more thing about me: I'm a painter. I have an MFA from an art school in Italy and I've exhibited internationally for about a decade. I also teach drawing, painting, and art history to adults, including complete beginners.
If you message me, tell me a bit about yourself and what you want English for. I'll be honest about whether I'm a good fit.
