I have a strong academic background in math and science, supported by a Master's degree in Civil Engineering (with a minor in Philosophy) and 5 years of professional experience applying these subjects in real-world problem-solving contexts. Engineering required a deep understanding of math, physics, and logical reasoning, as well as the ability to break complex problems down into clear, manageable steps. More recently, my work in UX research has further strengthened my ability to explain technical ideas clearly, adapt explanations to different learning styles, and meet students where they are.

My tutoring and teaching experience includes one-on-one instruction with students ranging from late elementary school through high school, as well as informal mentoring of peers and younger students throughout college and my professional career. My approach emphasizes understanding the “why” behind a problem rather than memorization, helping students develop problem-solving strategies they can apply independently. I tailor sessions to each student, adjusting pacing, examples, and methods based on how they learn best.

I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because math and science have felt rushed, confusing, or intimidating in the past. My goal is to slow things down, clarify fundamentals, and help students build momentum and confidence over time, so they can become powerful learners, problem solvers, and critical thinkers. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to combine technical knowledge with clear communication, and I take pride in opening the doors to students full potential.
