I am Deaf. I learned American Sign Language growing up and took college-level ASL classes as part of an interpreting curriculum program. However, I ultimately decided to pursue medical school rather than any certificates or formal interpreting degrees. I utilize specialized medical interpreters on a daily basis and have expertise in medical and scientific ASL terminology.
