I am Anuj. I have a BA from New York University and a Master's degree from Oxford University. Throughout my career I have helped my colleagues understand complex subject matter.

I want to use my talent for communicating detailed lessons within a broader context so that students learn the specific detailed lesson but are also able to place the detail within a general framework. I believe this will help them remember details better because they can connect it to a bigger picture, but it might also make them more enthusiastic to learn more.

I also love learning a wide variety of subjects and any time spent learning or teaching is time well spent in life.

I have worked with Python for three plus years both in a software development context and also in a data science context. I have a good understanding of data structures and time and space complexity and can help students work through some of the common problems they might encounter in a software engineering interview. I can also discuss some of the common problems related using Python to manage and analyze data.

I have studied European and American history and politics academically in great detail at New York University and Oxford University. I have also worked professionally on political topics related to Asia making me uniquely qualified to provide students detailed lessons on specific topics but also provide them a big picture overview so they can connect multiple areas and disciplines.

I have successfully tutored many students on Wyzant in Python and on how to use Python for solving data science problems including by using Python's sklearn library, which uses many of the core machine learning algorithms such as linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees and several others. Additionally, I also have tutored students on data analysis, data cleaning, and pre-processing using Python's Pandas library. Furthermore, I have also tutored students on visualization using Python's matplotlib and seaborn libraries. These basic skills and experience encompass most of the key skills data scientists need to accomplish their goal of providing understanding and actionable insight using data. I also have experience and competence related to SQL databases and software development using Python and these additional skills can help when undertaking data science work. In addition to the above I have also provided consulting services in data science to a software company that provides marketing services to independent restaurants. Past projects with this company have included extracting transaction data from SQL databases and using a variety of data cleaning and analysis steps to prepare reports for the CEO and CTO. After pre-processing the data I undertook machine learning model building trials with a focus on delivering predictions in real time so as to improve the transaction process.
