Hi, I’m Jensy, an Engineering Science student in the Honors Program at Bergen Community College with a strong academic foundation in both English and Mathematics, including Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I currently work as a professional tutor at the Cerullo Learning Assistance Center at Bergen Community College, where I support students across a range of skill levels and learning styles. In this role, I’ve learned how to explain complex material clearly, adjust instruction on the spot, and help students build confidence alongside technical understanding.

My tutoring experience extends well beyond formal settings. I’ve been tutoring my younger siblings since I was a child myself, helping them develop strong study habits and succeed academically. I’ve also supported my mother throughout Nursing School, particularly with written assignments, organization, and clarity of expression. My sisters and my mother are all honors students, and being part of a family that values education has shaped my patience, communication skills, and ability to explain ideas in ways that truly connect.

My tutoring style emphasizes understanding over memorization. I focus on the why behind each step, break problems into manageable pieces, and adapt explanations based on how each student learns best—whether through visuals, step-by-step walkthroughs, or repeated practice with feedback. I make sure students leave sessions able to explain concepts on their own, not just repeat procedures. I work especially well with middle school, high school, and early college students who feel stuck, anxious, or discouraged by math or writing.

I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in student success. If you or your child are looking for a tutor who explains concepts clearly, strengthens both skills and confidence, and takes learning seriously, I’d be happy to help.

Accuplacer

Accuplacer

After testing out of all my remedial classes in college I was chosen to be a tutor for the Accuplacer. I have helped dozens of students to do the same. I excel at standardized test taking and at teaching students how to do the same.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

An Engineering Student in college with a 4.0 GPA after taking Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus.
Chemistry

Chemistry

well-qualified to tutor chemistry at the introductory and college level, especially for students who need concepts explained from the ground up. He is an Engineering Science student in the Honors Program at Bergen Community College, where he has completed and excelled in general chemistry coursework that includes: • Stoichiometry and dimensional analysis • Atomic structure and periodic trends • Chemical bonding and molecular geometry (VSEPR) • Thermochemistry and calorimetry • Acid–base chemistry and titration analysis • Laboratory data interpretation and error analysis What sets Jensy apart is not just content knowledge, but how he teaches. He consistently breaks chemistry down into first principles, explains why formulas work instead of asking students to memorize them, and connects abstract ideas to visuals, units, and real examples. This is especially effective for students who feel overwhelmed by chemistry or think they are “bad at science.” Jensy has formal tutoring experience through the Cerullo Learning Assistance Center at Bergen Community College, where he worked as a professional tutor supporting students across STEM subjects. He also has years of informal tutoring experience, including: • Tutoring younger siblings from middle school through high school • Supporting his mother through nursing school, particularly with science-based coursework and written assignments All of the students he has supported are honors-level students, which reflects both his clarity as an instructor and his ability to raise academic performance. In short: • Strong chemistry foundation • Proven tutoring experience • Clear, step-by-step teaching style • Patient, direct, and results-oriented
Common Core

Common Core

As a child growing up in New York City, I was always at the top of my class. The common core exams were always an opportunity for me to excel. My strong aptitude for standardized test taking and my ability to teach others to have this same aptitude makes me an amazing tutor for this subject.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

Working as the Data Analytics Administrator at a third party scent manufacturer, tasked with finding a bottle neck in their system after a catastrophic fire, I have acquire industry standard experience in SQL, Python, and Advanced Excel.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I coordinated, planned, and executed on a summer program for students between the ages of 8 and 16 on multiple STEM subjects. I have also been tutoring my younger siblings for years. They are both excelling in school and attending honors and gifted classes.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I have been a pioneer of Artificial Intelligence since it's boom and have successfully participated in the acceptance of it as a valid subject of education at Bergen Community College, and am the first instructor on the subject at that Institution. I have a breadth of experience in training Large Language Models, creating A.I agents for business automations, and using State of the Art models for their optimized use cases to greatly increase productivity of both myself and my team.
Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

I’m well qualified to tutor Microsoft Excel because I use it seriously, not casually. I’ve worked extensively with Excel in academic, professional, and leadership settings—building dashboards, cleaning and analyzing data, creating pivot tables, writing complex formulas, and turning messy datasets into clear, decision-ready visuals. I’ve used Excel for survey analysis, program evaluation, KPI tracking, financial calculations, and reporting for leadership, not just homework assignments. I’m especially strong with: • Core to advanced formulas (IF, COUNTIF/S, SUMIF/S, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested logic) • Pivot tables, slicers, and charts for dashboards • Data validation, conditional formatting, and error-proofing sheets • Cleaning and structuring raw data so it actually makes sense • Explaining why formulas work, not just what to type Beyond technical skill, I know how to teach. I’ve been a Peer Leader and tutor at Bergen Community College, where my job was literally to break down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations that students can actually follow. I adapt to how people learn, move from basics to advanced topics smoothly, and make sure students leave understanding—not guessing.
Precalculus

Precalculus

As an engineering student with a 4.0 GPA after taking Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, Physics, and Biology, my strong foundation in STEM and love for teaching makes me an ideal candidate.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have been public speaking professionally since I was 18. Working as a Bike and Pedestrian Safety instructor in schools I was tasked with giving presentation in front of hundreds of students at a time. I have gone on to teach others how to do the same Infront of similarly sized groups of people.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I have a strong foundation in reading comprehension, academic writing, and critical analysis, and I know how to teach those skills in a clear, structured way. I graduated from Bronx High School of Science, where close reading, evidence-based analysis, and time-pressured exams were the norm. I’m currently an Honors engineering student at Bergen Community College, which means I work constantly with dense technical texts, arguments, and data—skills that translate directly to SAT Reading passages. I don’t guess; I read with purpose, identify the author’s claim, track tone shifts, and eliminate wrong answers logically. I also have professional tutoring experience at Bergen Community College’s Cerullo Learning Assistance Center, where I learned how to break complex reading strategies into simple, repeatable steps. I’ve tutored students with different learning styles and starting levels, so I know how to meet students where they are instead of using one-size-fits-all explanations. On top of that, I’ve spent years tutoring my younger siblings and helping my mother through nursing school, especially with reading-heavy coursework and written analysis. My tutoring style is direct and practical. I teach students how the SAT actually works: how questions are designed, why wrong answers look tempting, how to annotate efficiently, and how to manage time under pressure. I focus on evidence-based reasoning, vocabulary in context, main idea tracking, and paired passage strategies so students aren’t relying on intuition—they’re relying on method. Bottom line: I don’t just help students get answers right. I teach them how to read like the test expects, build confidence, and improve their score in a measurable way.
SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

I Received a 1600 on the SAT in 2018. I have gone on to tutor many other students in this test with 90% of them attending Specialized High Schools. My aptitude for test taking and ability to teach others these strategies makes me a great tutor for any standardized test.
