I graduated from Tufts University in 2020 with a BS in Biotechnology and Biology, and am currently a 3rd year medical student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. At Tufts, I had significant experience in peer tutoring and medical education through my involvement with the biology department and the pre-medical society. My tutoring style varied depending on the group and individual setting, and I tutored in biology, chemistry, mathematics and high school/college standardized test preparation throughout college. In group settings, I preferred taking questions in a topic and then using diagrams to explain it. In individual settings, I prefer the "teach-back" method, whereby after giving an introduction about a topic, the student being tutored "teaches back" to me to ensure understanding. I am a visual learner so I use a lot of drawings/diagrams when I teach.
I have taught high school and college students, and would like to transition to late college/graduated students who are taking the MCAT and biology classes in college. I have taught mathematics and basic calculus as well, and am happy to teach those subjects to high school and early college students. Within the biological sciences, I have significant research experience in immunology and microbiology, and am happy to tutor in those subjects as well as other biology subjects as well (physiology, anatomy).
