I am a financial consultant in the securities industry. I have a strong math/statistical background. Along with the mathematical and analytical side, I have written a number of white papers focused on financial and economic topics. So whether it is help you need in math/stats or reading and writing I can cover all the bases. I am also pursuing the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation, having passed Level I. I have worked with many different learning styles and almost everywhere I have been I have taken the time to volunteer and tutor, or have been an instructor in some capacity. Below are some of the organizations I am a part of:
-WIBO Instructor (Workshops In Business Opportunities) (2yrs)
A 16 week workshop that focuses on the basics of entrepreneurship. The focus is to train and develop the skill set and acumen for future and current entrepreneurs so they may succeed in the business environment. Classes include marketing, cost mgmt and product pricing, and human resources, among many other comprehensive classes.
-FC Harlem Junior Board Member (3yrs)
A community based non-profit recreational and developmental soccer league. Along with my duties as a junior board member I am also a volunteer coach in the recreational league and have been since day 1.
-Junior Achievement (2yrs)
I volunteered as an instructor teaching high school students the basics of consumer finance and presentation skills.
-National Instructor at Big 4 Accounting Firm (3yrs)
Prior to starting my own business, I was a consultant at a Big 4 accounting firm where my focus was the fixed income market. In the little spare time I had when not advising clients I was a national instructor for the firm. I trained recent college grads and new associates on the basics of accounting and finance with a focus on journal entries, closing the books, analytical techniques applied to the financial statements (ratios, valuation methods, etc) and case studies to strengthen new associates' critical thinking skills.
