Amazing tutoring skills!

My son and I are very happy with Mary and I personally cannot believe how inspired I was selecting her from the several options I had on WyzAnt. Aside from perfect pedagogical skills and a wonderful personality, she is highly trained in her field and customizes her tutoring to her student's needs, keeping pace with how these needs evolve. She is also very good at incorporating feedback from the parents and making the students feel good about their performance and progress without "overdoing" it. All in all a perfect match for my 9 year old son who was "stuck in" phonetic spelling and was not able to move on to correct spelling on his own. We are VERY happy we met her and we recommend her without any reservations!!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

My grandson has a reading comprehension issue. We started with a tutor who was very qualified. However the tutor was lacking in patients and eventually gave up on him. We looked for another tutor and found Mary. She worked with my grandson for a period of time and was extremely patient and never gave up him. After a period of time Mary recognized that there may be other issues involved in his reading comprehension. She recommended looking into a few areas that she was not a specialist. One of those is FCODV. We looked into this and found there were only nine doctors in our state that were qualified to do that were qualified in this area. Luckily one of those doctors was only 35 miles away. We went to the doctor and found that there were many areas contributing to his reading comprehension issue. This doctor specializes in the therapies necessary to improve his reading comprehension. The assessment that the doctor made indicated that there were several areas contributing to his reading comprehension issue. This is something that the reading tutor could not have diagnosed. We are very thankful that Mary was able to suggest this and was knowledgeable enough to recognize that this was a potential solution. After he completes his therapies with the doctor it isOur intention to begin reading tutoring with Mary again. I cannot stress how thankful we are for having her as a tutor.
