Hey everyone! My name is Blake. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Psychology. I maintained a strong academic performance in my coursework (3.75 GPA, Dean’s List) and have developed a deep understanding of analytical reasoning, problem solving, and communication. I scored a 1500 on the SAT, with a 720 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and a 780 in Math. My academic background (particularly in psychology) has trained me how to break down complex material into clear, understandable concepts, which I apply directly in my tutoring.
I have a year of tutoring experience working with high school students in one-on-one settings, helping them improve their understanding of SAT content and test-taking strategy. In these sessions, I focus on identifying patterns in the test, helping students recognize common question types, and improving their ability to eliminate incorrect answer choices efficiently. I have worked with students across different skill levels, primarily high school juniors and seniors preparing for the SAT, and I tailor each session to the student’s specific strengths and areas for growth.
My teaching approach emphasizes both content mastery and strategic thinking. I help students understand how the SAT is designed, including how questions are structured and how time pressure impacts performance. Sessions are typically structured around guided practice, targeted review of missed questions, and reinforcement of key strategies such as pacing, answer elimination, and pattern recognition. I aim to create a supportive and approachable learning environment so that students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence as they improve their scores.
I am really easy to reach and will provide fast responses! Feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson.
