Hi, I'm Owen. 'm Owen. I'm currently enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology as an undergraduate majoring in Computational Media. I have experience tutoring/teaching in a variety of settings and decided to start tutoring through Wyzant to reach out to a wider net of students. When I tutor students I usually like to see some of their work and go through it with them first so I can get an idea of what their class expects. From there I am open to working with the student to figure out what tutoring structure works best, regularly going through assigned work, setting up short lessons on specific topics, or anything else that the student or I think would work well; whatever structure my students feel most comfortable with I am happy to oblige.
As a computational media major, my threads (specific areas of study) are Artificial Intelligence and Game Design. I have completed the following computer science classes: Intro to Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms, Intro to Discrete Math CS, Computer Organization and Programming, Objects, and Design, and Intro to Artificial Intelligence. I am also proficient in the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java, and JavaScript. I have also completed Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. I scored 5s on the following AP tests: Calculus BC, Computer Science, Physics, and Biology and I scored a 35 on the ACT. I have also worked as a content creator for Study Smarter where I created practice material for the ACT science section so I am particularly familiar with this section.
I have experience teaching and tutoring in a variety of environments and at a variety of levels. I have worked as an instructor for an extracurricular coding school called Code Ninjas where I taught students programming skills at all levels ranging between introductory languages like Scratch, intermediate JavaScript, and more advanced C# in Unity.
