I am a certified AP Biology and AP Chemistry Teacher with over 25 years in these subject areas. I have also taught Anatomy and Physiology. I am a scientist who has had experience teaching in K-12, as well as, higher education classes. I am also an adjunct professor. My specialty is working with high school students, but I will work with middle school students as well.

Writing is the verbal expression of how we think and this will necessitate interesting idea(s)or subject matter, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and spelling. How we connect the importance of an idea to our readers is critical to stay interested and thinking about your thoughts. I have over 30 years helping students write their college essays. I received a thank you note from an admission office because upon reading his essay, he communicate exactly what he accomplished and hoped to accomplish with a college degree. I adhere to APA as well as MLA formatting rules. These rules assist students in communicating their thoughts, dreams, and experiences in an organized format. These rules help with appropriate use of vocabulary and sentence structure. I show students how to easily achieve these skills.

Not the best

Mary is a very encouraging and kind tutor. Unfortunately she spend much of the time with my daughter on one chemistry problem that she wasn't able to do. She also spent significant time complaining that her teacher was terrible, which may be true but it really wasted a lot of time. Lastly, I found it unprofessional when she told my daughter that she shouldn't be a doctor after she indicated that was what she hoped to study. Although she is very nice, all and all it was a complete waste of time for us.

Excellent Tutor!

I've worked with Mary for the last 4 weeks to prepare for a NUR101 final exam. She guided me for what to study from each chapter. Helped by providing sample quizzes and tests to assist me in my preparation. In addition, Mary helped me re-gain my confidence and provided helpful information on testing taking skills. My daughter is in AP chem. She attends a school that has excellent academic reputation. Our expectation from a tutor maybe also a little bit higher. My daughter thinks Mrs. B is a good tutor, but felt she could handle a faster pace and more materials that are directly related to actual AP test.
