Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am a certified Special Education and Elementary Education (K–6) teacher in New Jersey with more than six years of teaching experience across both elementary and middle school settings.
I earned my Master’s degree in Teaching & Learning with a Special Education concentration from New York University (NYU), where I focused on strong instructional practices, differentiated learning, and helping diverse learners reach their full potential.
Over the years, I have taught and supported students with a wide range of learning needs—including learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional/behavioral challenges, and students performing below grade level in reading, writing, and math. I specialize in making learning accessible, confidence-building, and engaging.
My Tutoring Approach
•I use evidence-based strategies, multisensory instruction, and scaffolded support.
•I tailor every session to each student’s needs, strengths, and goals.
•I break down complex skills into manageable steps, making learning less stressful and more successful.
•I build students’ academic skills and their confidence, independence, and motivation.
Subjects & Skills I Tutor
•K–6 Reading, Phonics, and Writing
•Math (K–6 foundation skills, problem-solving, number sense)
•Study skills, organization, and homework support
•Special education support, differentiation, and IEP-aligned skill building
Who I Work With
I have experience teaching students between the ages of 6–14, including both general education students and those with IEPs.
Why I Love What I Do
I believe every child can learn with the right tools, encouragement, and approach. My goal is to meet students where they are, help them grow, and make learning a positive experience again.
