Hello there! My name is David Bonilla, I obtained my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Recording Arts & Technologies from MTSU in August of 2022. While at MTSU I had the opportunity to hone both my engineering and teaching skills. From the engineering side, I was able to lead the integration of MTSU’s first Dolby Atmos setup. Dolby Atmos is a novel immersive audio technology that is a top trend in audio engineering and audio education. I wrote my Master's thesis on this topic, and have received extensive continuing training on the topic.
Most importantly, while at MTSU, I had the opportunity to teach both undergraduate and graduate students how to get started with mixing in Dolby Atmos. I also wrote instructional manuals on how to properly use the Dolby Atmos setup I designed and implemented. Lastly, I tutored students 1-on-1, and gave workshops, guest lectures, and demos to groups of students, all on the topic of immersive audio and Dolby Atmos.
It is now my desire to bring this body of expertise and knowledge to the Wyzant community, where I can reach students all over the country and the world, especially in places where this type of education is not readably available.
