I have an extensive education in the sciences and humanities tested on the MCAT, from recently graduating Rutgers University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, minoring in Sociology. Through using various preparation materials and study strategies to score well on the MCAT, as well as helping other students with their own preparation methods, I have learned how to optimize the period leading up to the MCAT through approaches tailored for each student. As an MCAT tutor, I will provide students with resources, tools and test-taking strategies that will prepare them to score proficiently, as well as with a plan/schedule that incorporates the different facets of preparation needed for this exam, such as content review, error analysis, and practice questions/full-lengths. Alongside this, I plan to meet students where they are, through tailored teaching and clarification in whichever area they need it, whether it be practice questions or content review.
I currently have experience tutoring high school students and helping them to prepare for higher education, and am currently working as a tutor for SAT/ACT preparation. This involves not only building upon skills the SAT/ACT assesses, like reading comprehension or quantitative reasoning, but also developing test-taking methods and strategies that optimizes success for each student. I plan to take the skills and experience I have developed here into my position as an MCAT tutor.
