I have been working with and tutoring students for over 10 years. My strengths are motivating students and helping them gain confidence to work towards and obtain their full potential. I specialize in middle school math, algebra 1, environmental science and biology. I am a special education teacher with a masters in education as well as highly qualified to teach math. I specialize in middle school math, algebra 1, environmental science and biology. I am a special education teacher with a masters in education as well as highly qualified to teach math. My classroom typically looks like a group students working on independent assignments at their own pace. I will work to identify each student's ideal learning style and use that information to form my individual lessons.

Prior life experience includes a BS in sales and marketing and 15 years experience working for successful manufacturing, importing and sales companies. My desire to work with others brought me to the field of education. I am employed as a teacher in a public high school and enjoy working with and helping my students learn educational tools and well as life strategies and find success.

I am a certified special education teacher in a public school with many students who are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD in my classes. I am very involved with the child study team on parent meetings, evalucations and classroom placement of all classified students in my classes. During the summer I am a lead teacher in an special needs program which includes students with ADD/ADHA, autism, as well as other non-specific diagnosis.

Excellent approach. Highly recommend.

Ellen has been helping my daughter with middle school math (algebra) for a while now, and she has an excellent approach. She does a great job communicating the subject matter (and reinforces key learning along the way). My daughter is much more comfortable with algebra after working with Ellen, she has more confidence with taking exams and quizzes, and her grades reflect that. I highly recommend Ellen as a math tutor.
