My name is Sarah and I am currently a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University pursuing my Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in British Studies and my Master's in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, simultaneously. I have taken a wide array of courses throughout my four years at this institution which give me a strong foundation on a number of subjects.
Aside from academics I have been involved with orientation for three years along with being involved in greek life. I have developed a strong passion for working one-on-one or with small groups to help students succeed. Being an orientation leader and orientation coordinator has allowed me to assist all the incoming first-year students with their transition into college life. In greek life I was the new member coordinator and was able to continue being the orientation leader for new members into the organization. These positions have allowed me to watch hundreds of students grow towards their full potential. Through tutoring I hope to help students work to reach their full potential as well.
My Master's thesis is focusing on the concept of learning transfer, or the ability for one to assimilate what they learn into practice. With the research I have completed so far and my previous study of a variety of fields within the realm of psychology I hope to not only help students understand the course material but give them the tools to continue to use these skills in the future.
I have been inducted into the Phi Zeta Kappa Honors Society and the Phi Omega Epsilon Honors Society. I have made the Dean's List in fall 2013 and 2015 and the Honors List in fall 2014, spring 2015, and 2016. I have also received the Colonel Fairleigh Dickinson Scholarship for all four years, the Charter Day Scholarship for two years, and the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation Scholarship.
