Mathematics has always been a passion of mine, even if I wasn't a master at it early in life. That changed during my advanced math classes from 6th - 8th grade in Lansdale, PA, where my teacher directed and developed my depth of understanding, respect for, and love of math and teaching.

While attending a parochial school in Lansdale, I completed all honors and AP math classes, which allowed me to tutor peers and serve with the NHS. At Rider University, I began tutoring at the math annex as a freshman. I earned BAs in mathematics and secondary education, taught in Montgomery Twp. and settled at Nottingham HS in Hamilton, NJ. Since then, I’ve accumulated thousands of tutoring hours and became a professional math tutor with Wyzant in 2014.

I provide the best possible support for each and every student I meet. I currently teach Honors Geometry, Precalculus, and AP Statistics, but have taught most math classes up to AP Calculus AB. For each family I work with, I discuss goals and expectations of parents and students. I assess student problem-solving to identify areas of difficulty. I teach/reteach topics, clarify areas of uncertainty, assist with hw, and help with projects/presentations. I enable students to use multiple methods to represent a variety of problems. I always nurture out-of-the-box thinking and a deeper understanding. I connect the succession of math classes from year to year, such as how Algebra and Geometry lend themselves to Precalc and Calc. Students appreciate knowing why they are learning what they are, and why the methods their teachers use are so important. In addition, students do not have to wait an entire week getting questions answered. I provide my email so they can send concerns and questions they have from class or homework.

The information I provided above is why I am confident in the services I provide, and why my services are so valued by those I provide them to. You will feel the same after scheduling with me.

Excellent Tutor!

Mr. M is one of the most patient and encouraging teachers I have ever had. He really tries to get to know the student and adjust to their learning style. He doesn't teach concepts only on the surface level — he provides challenge problems to deepen understanding and reassures the student when they feel less confident in their abilities. He is very knowledgable in the subjects he has tutored me in, such as Geometry and Pre Calc, but he also teaches with a wider perspective (such as emphasizing concepts that will be important later on in AP Calc BC or on the SAT). Math is not my favorite subject, but Mr. M makes it understandable and enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to working with him in the future!

Math tutor

Gray has changed my outlook on math forever! What impresses me the most is how they are able to break down complex topics into the most fundamental ideas so that even the hardest problems seem rather easy. After starting to work with Gray, my marks went up in the first place but what is more important is that I feel now I can do math by myself. I owe a lot to Gray’s patience and flexibility—over and over again, they know how to make me understand the problems in such a way that the information sticks. I thank Gray as I do not only study for the exams, I do react and understanding math for the very first time. Up to this point recommended to everyone who is looking for a tutor who doesn’t stop at simple requirements!
