I love empowering people to help themselves through a coach/tutoring model. As an ASHA-certified speech language pathologist, I have over 19 years of experience across medical and school settings. Please note that any reference to certification in my profile is strictly reflecting my American Speech Language and Hearing Association Certification. SLPs are not* teachers. We assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. We are certified as SLPs by our governing body, ASHA. Some SLPs that work in school settings may obtain an additional educational certification per state regulations.
Regarding educational background, two of my collegiate degrees are in the areas of Communication Sciences and Disorders / Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. I have over 5,000 hours of personal 1:1 contact instructing clients (ranging from infants/toddlers and school-aged kids to adults and seniors; ages 1.5 to 106) with varied communication disorders such as articulation and phonological disorders, language delays, cognitive-linguistic impairment, hardness of hearing, English as a second language, swallowing disorders, and traumatic brain injury.
