Hello! My name is Harsit Mittal. I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Quantitative and Computational Finance at Georgia Tech. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in problem-solving and mathematical reasoning. I tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, precalculus, trigonometry, calculus, and introductory college-level mathematics. I can also help with introductory programming in Scratch, Python, and Roblox.
I have hands-on teaching experience from working at Black Rocket Productions as both a lead and assistant instructor for middle school students. I taught programming through project-based lessons and helped students debug their code, understand why it was not working, and break larger projects into manageable steps. This experience taught me how to explain unfamiliar concepts clearly, adjust my approach when a student is confused, and guide students toward solutions without simply giving them the answer.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and hands-on. I first identify what the student understands and where the confusion begins. Then I break the topic into smaller pieces, work through an example, and let the student try a similar problem independently. I especially focus on helping students develop a repeatable, step-by-step process: identify what is given, determine what the problem is asking, choose the right method, carry out the steps carefully, and check whether the answer makes sense.
My goal is not only to help students finish an assignment, but also to build the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to handle similar questions on their own. Whether you are preparing for an exam, catching up in class, or strengthening your overall math or coding skills, I would be happy to help. Please contact me with the course and topics you would like to work on so we can plan a productive first lesson.
