Hello! My name is Mr. Brent G., and I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with new students! I graduated from Rider University in May 2024 with a degree in Elementary Education Multidisciplinary Studies. I have been teaching full-time since September 2024. By June, I will have completed two full school years in the classroom. I am certified in all elementary content areas, but I currently teach 4th grade math, which is where I feel most confident and passionate.
I understand that math can sometimes feel challenging or frustrating for students. My goal is to make it more approachable, clear, and even enjoyable. I focus on helping students truly understand concepts—not just memorize steps—so they can build confidence and become independent problem-solvers. I break skills down into manageable steps, connect them to what students already know, and provide support along the way.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to meet individual needs. I create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s where real learning happens. I also emphasize organization, clear thinking, and strong work habits that extend beyond math.
I look forward to working together and helping your child grow both academically and confidently.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brent G.
