Hello! I am Lauren. I am a certified K-12 teacher with 10 years of experience working with students of varying age levels. I have helped students prepare for various examinations such as the SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and EIKEN, as well as provided reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar instruction for non-native English speakers. I specialize in teaching vocabulary, reading skills, and writing skills to high school students as well as adult learners. In addition, much of my teaching experiences involved helping students write and refine college entry essays.
I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Bilingual Education, minoring in Japanese language and Psychology. I also hold my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State. I have recently returned to the US after living in Japan for a few years. In Japan, I was teaching the English language, as well as English Language Arts and Social Studies. In my current role, I work as the ELL Coordinator at a high school where I provide tailored instruction to students who have limited English proficiency. I also teach the Japanese language to high school students and facilitate a Japanese club.
My priority is to benefit the students I work with and help them achieve their goals. I am happy to work with you in order to cultivate a tutoring experience that works best for you!
