Since 2002 I've been teaching and tutoring children and adults in public and private schools. With a Master's degree, a Certificate from the Bergen County, NJ, Board of Education to teach Preschool--8th grade, a Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus Certificate, and a Life Coach diploma from the Torah Psychology School of Coaching and Counseling, I have the education, experience, and caring to bring success.
I've taught 1st grade through 8th grade English- and Hebrew-speaking studients in public schools in New Jersey, including English Language Arts, Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, and History. As a Title 1 Tutor, I've taught Remedial classes for 3rd-6th grade Yiddish-speaking boys at Cheder Bardichev Yeshiva, Monsey, NY, including English Language, ABCs, Reading, Writing, Conversation, Phonics, Spelling, Grammar, and Math. I lead the classroom setting, and also teach one-on-one.
At the college-level I taught ELA to students who were earning their GEDs and taking courses at Touro College, NY, NY. For Daemen College I taught adult Yiddish-speaking women who needed to earn their High School Diplomas to get jobs in the workplace in Monsey, NY.
As a former trained and certified Foster Parent for Ohel Children and Family Services, Brooklyn, NY, and DYFS, NJ, I've taken care of three children who lived in my home, ages 5, 12, and 8. I'm also a former Mentor for five "abused/at-risk" children, ages 4-12, for Volunteers in Protective Services, Hackensack, NJ.
I've published articles in Fortune, Newsday, San Francisco Chronicle, The Jewish Press, HaModia, The Monsey View, Chabad.org, and other publications.
