Algebra 1

I have a strong background in Algebra 1, including solving equations, graphing, and working with functions. I’ve helped students understand key concepts like linear equations, inequalities, and factoring in a clear and simple way. My approach focuses on breaking down problems step by step so students can build confidence. I aim to make math easier to understand and less stressful for learners.

Elementary (K-6th)

I support elementary K–6 students in developing strong academic foundations while helping them build confidence and independent learning skills. With experience working in Kumon, I have helped students strengthen their math and reading abilities through consistent practice, step-by-step instruction, and individualized support based on each student’s pace and needs. In math, I work with students on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, word problems, and problem-solving strategies, while also supporting more advanced students with pre-algebra and math concepts up to the 8th grade level. I focus on helping students fully understand concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures so they can apply their knowledge confidently in school. In ELA, I help students strengthen reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing skills through interactive and supportive lessons. We can read passages together, analyze questions, identify main ideas, make inferences, and practice critical thinking strategies to improve understanding of different types of texts. I also work with students on sentence structure, punctuation, and vocabulary development to help them become stronger readers and writers. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, growing academically, and becoming more confident learners.

Prealgebra

I have experience supporting students in Pre-Algebra by building strong foundational math skills. I help with integers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, and polynomials, making sure students understand how to work with each concept step by step. I also support students in solving expressions and equations while strengthening their problem-solving skills. My focus is on making math clear and manageable so students feel confident moving into Algebra 1.

Reading

I have experience helping students improve their reading skills, including fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. I work with learners to better understand texts, identify main ideas, and make inferences while reading. I use clear strategies to help students become more confident and independent readers. My goal is to support students in building strong literacy skills they can use across all subjects.
