Hi! My name is Ivy, and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Delaware with a degree in Health Behavior Science and a minor in Public Health. I’m passionate about helping others learn in a way that feels clear, encouraging, and manageable, especially when the subject matter seems overwhelming at first.
During college, I served as a research assistant in the RECALL Lab (UD’s Communicative Sciences and Disorders department), where I worked with seasoned clients undergoing cognitive screenings to determine eligibility for our dementia screening studies. I also volunteered with Lori’s Hands, a service-based nonprofit, where I regularly supported older adults with chronic illness. Both roles deepened my communication skills and my ability to explain complex information in simple, friendly terms.
In school, math was always my strongest subject, where I consistently earned A+ grades and regularly helped my peers who were struggling. I loved figuring out how they learned best and coming up with new strategies that actually clicked for them. That is the approach I have taken even up to today: patient, encouraging, and tailored to the learner.
In the near future, I plan to attend graduate school to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. Until then, I’m excited to support students in building confidence and mastering tough subjects! :)
