I love teaching and learning, and am continually looking for ways to hone my craft and increase my knowledge of education. I hold certifications with the New Jersey Department of Education in the following areas: “Social Studies”, “Teacher of Students with Disabilities”, and “Supervision”, as well, I am currently applying for my “Principals” license. Additionally, I am the Head Softball Coach within my High School and Assistant Wrestling Coach, wherein both roles have enabled me to positively interact with students outside of the classroom. My areas of specialization for tutoring include Social Studies, Reading, Writing, SAT Test Prep, and AP US History, all of with which I have had previous success.

Being a certified Social Studies and Special Needs teacher, I bring to the table a unique set of skills that enable my tutees to benefit from my 10 years of instructional experience. Having taught and tutored 7th-12th grade students in a wide range of subjects, I am able to tailor my tutoring to meet the needs of the individual learner. My dynamic, energetic, and hands-on approach to education empower my students to comprehend previously difficult material, wherein tutees subsequently flourish as a result of rigorous lessons and assignments.

As a results oriented educator, I hold my students to high standards enabling them to consistently perform at peak levels within the courses/ subjects of which I am instructing. I do not end a tutoring session unless the student has proven that they have truly comprehended the material. I see my role as a tutor to serve as a person whom can vastly increase a pupil’s abilities in whatever subject matter they may need assistance.

I am flexible with my tutoring schedule and am available on weekdays, in the evening and on weekends. For your convenience, I am available for both “in-home” supervised tutoring sessions, or “location” tutoring sessions wherein we would meet at a designated site (library, café, etc.) Tutoring can be in

Exceptional Support and Guidance!

Peter C. was an incredible source of help and guidance when I was writing my history research paper on Prohibition. I came to him late, with my paper being behind and the due date approaching; he was able to help me get my ideas in order as well as help my editing. He is patient and went over our scheduled time to make sure I was in a spot to be independent. Peter has also helped me prepare for the SAT/ACT reading sections. I thought it would be to difficult to understand or gain strategies as a dyslexic, but Peter walked me through any problems I got incorrect and showed me a different way to look at them. Peter is kind and supportive; he has been a great help to the beginning of my junior year. Phoebe

Joseph, 5 lessons with Peter

Knowledgeable tutor

Peter would review and reteach what my teacher taught in class. He made the lesson enjoyable because he would tell a story so I could remember what the topics were about. When I recalled the information, I was able to apply it to my quiz and test and increase my scores.

Knowledgeable

Peter is very down to earth and my son felt comfortable. He assisted with his essay writing skills and gave him pointers that could be used moving forward. We will definitely schedule with Peter again and highly recommend him as a tutor.
