I have spent more than a decade working with middle school students and helping them develop confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I later completed my teaching certification at Felician University and went on to earn both my Special Education certification and a Master’s degree in Education from Rutgers University. My academic background allows me to support students in a wide range of English Language Arts skills, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and literary analysis.
My teaching career began at Don Bosco Preparatory High School, where I taught for two years. For the past ten years, I have been teaching middle school, primarily working with students in grades 6–8. Much of my experience has been supporting students with learning differences, including those who benefit from differentiated instruction and structured academic support. In the classroom I work with a diverse group of learners, and I regularly adapt lessons to meet students at their individual skill levels.
As a tutor, I focus on building both skills and confidence. I break complex reading or writing tasks into manageable steps and use clear strategies to help students understand how to approach assignments independently. My approach is patient, supportive, and practical, whether I am helping a student improve reading comprehension, organize an essay, or prepare for an upcoming test. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, and I work to create a positive environment where they can build the academic skills they need to succeed.
