I’m excited to help you build confidence and mastery in chemistry! I hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and spent a short time in manufacturing before discovering my true passion—teaching. This June, I retired after 27 wonderful years teaching all levels of high school chemistry at my alma mater, from college-prep to Honors and AP Chemistry. I’ve also tutored students in General Chemistry I and II at the college level.

My goal is to help students truly understand chemistry, not just memorize facts. I break down challenging concepts into clear, concrete examples and use analogies to make abstract topics click. For instance, I explain Le Chatelier’s Principle with a simple see-saw analogy and bring acid-base titration curves to life by sketching the flask as the solution changes throughout the process alongside the calculations and graphing the points.
Over the years, I’ve worked with every type of learner and built a versatile “toolkit” to meet individual needs. I know the common pitfalls students face, how to spot misconceptions, and how to guide them toward efficient problem-solving strategies. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grade, prepare for an exam, or just feel less intimidated by chemistry, I’ll tailor each lesson to help you succeed.
