I am entering my 19th year in education and have experience working with students in grades K-12, and students with dyslexia. I am passionate about teaching reading and English, as well as helping students crack the code of the structure of the English language. I make learning interactive and engaging, and look forward to helping you or your child see results and achieve success in reading in all academic areas.

I completed my Orton Gillingham Certification through Fairleigh Dickinson University. Orton Gillingham is a method of teaching reading that is systematic, explicit, and multisensory. It is seen as the gold standard in teaching reading. For this certification, I underwent over 200 hours of a supervised teaching practicum, where I tutored students with dyslexia at the Children's Dyslexia Center in Scotch Plains, NJ, under supervision of highly skilled instructors. I am also certified to teach reading and children with dyslexia through the IMSLEC (International Multisensory Structured Language Education Counsel).

In addition to my Orton Gillingham certification, I hold my Reading Specialist and Teacher of Students with Disabilities certifications from Rutgers University. Additionally, I have two Masters degrees, one in Reading Education and the other in Language Education, also from Rutgers. I have also completed post graduate studies in ESL at the University of Virginia.

I am an expert in diagnosing and correcting reading difficulties in students of all ages who struggle in reading. I will diagnose student challenges, and then create individualized lessons tailored to student needs in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, reading comprehension, vocabulary and oral language development. I will also help you master speaking and writing skills in English.

I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve success in your academic goals this year!
