I'm Jennifer, and I am happy to be on the Wyzant platform. I graduated from MIT with an SB in Biology with a concentration in Spanish. I then continued my education at Sarah Lawrence College, where I obtained a Masters Degree in Health Advocacy and a Masters Degree in Human Genetics. I have spent over 20 years working as a genetic counselor. In my career, I spend all day teaching patients about genetics during their appointments with me. However, I have also had the opportunity to lecture medical residents, attending physicians, nurses, and genetic counseling students and undergraduates about genetics as well. That being said, I am comfortable in both a one-on-one or group format.
In addition to my skills in Biology, I took Spanish throughout high school and continued to study the language in college. I have spent my entire career counseling patients in Spanish and serving as a translator during countless medical appointments. Unlike other Spanish speakers who can only speak the language, I am also able to read and write Spanish as well. My skill set is even stronger in English.
