I hold a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from American College of Education, along with standard K-6 teaching certification in both New Jersey and Texas. Over the past fifteen years, I have taught and led instruction across a wide range of grade levels, from kindergarten through eighth grade, in subjects including math, science, reading, and writing. My classroom experience spans multiple schools and states, giving me a broad, adaptable understanding of how students at different ages learn best.
Most recently, I have taught sixth grade math and science at Winslow Township Board of Education, where I deliver standards-aligned instruction using differentiated, data-informed strategies and design assessments tailored to individual student needs. Earlier in my career, I served as a curriculum and instructional coach at Xavier Academy in Houston, where I taught math, science, and English across grades seven through eleven while also coaching and evaluating other teachers. Before that, at KIPP PEACE Elementary and James H. Law Elementary in Houston, I taught second through fourth grade, served as grade level chair and math department chair, and worked as an ESL facilitator and academic mentor to younger students.
Across all of these settings, my approach has centered on breaking complex concepts into simple, concrete steps, using real-world examples students can relate to, and continually checking for understanding before moving forward. I have experience supporting students who are struggling to catch up as well as those ready to move ahead, and I am comfortable adjusting my teaching style to fit a student's pace, learning style, and confidence level. I am patient, structured, and genuinely invested in helping each student build both skill and self-assurance in math and science.
