I always thought that I was a poor math student when in reality I never really understood mathematics until I became a teacher. Now I love teaching math! I love seeing the look that comes over my students' faces when they discover patterns and make connections.
Reading is paramount to academic success. I have experience teaching decoding and comprehension skills. I think that writing is an excellent way to practice and reinforce these skills. In my classroom, students read out loud and write everyday. I also enjoy teaching grammar and helping students develop a rich vocabulary.
