Hi! I am a student at Barnard College, Columbia University studying Mathematics and Economics, and I have been tutoring students in math and CS since I was a freshman in high school. Over the years, I have worked with students of different ages and skill levels, and that experience has taught me that strong teaching is not about rushing through material. It is about figuring out where a student is getting stuck, explaining ideas clearly, and being willing to revisit a concept as many times as needed until it clicks.

I tutor subjects including calculus, linear algebra, ODEs, Java, classical mechanics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics. In every session, I focus on making difficult material feel more approachable. That means breaking complex ideas into manageable steps, building intuition before jumping into formulas, and adjusting my explanations until they really make sense to the student in front of me. I want students to leave sessions not just with completed homework or better test prep, but with a deeper understanding of the material and a stronger belief in their own ability.

At Barnard, I am also a fellow at the Center for Engaged Pedagogy, where I work with professors on questions of teaching, learning, and how to make complex material more accessible. That experience has made me even more thoughtful about how students learn best. I bring that same care into tutoring by being patient, encouraging, and attentive to each student's needs. Whether a student wants long-term support, help preparing for an exam, or guidance through a difficult class, I aim to create a space where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing through both.

I genuinely love teaching, and one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing a student go from overwhelmed or unsure to capable and confident. I have been in that situation far too many times myself. If you are looking for a tutor who is serious about both strong results and clear, supportive teaching, I would be happy to help.
