My name is Professor Ali. I am a bestselling author featured in the Wall Street Journal and award-winning educator from the United States with 15 years of teaching experience (four universities). I received my undergraduate degree at Cornell University and doctorate (PhD) at New York University. I have taught at four universities, including New York University and several liberal arts colleges (with tenure), and I have also tutored students at the K-12 level in various humanities subjects, social sciences subjects, and foreign languages. The courses I have designed at various universities have been very popular with college students (course evaluations of 4.9/5 on all questions), and I always welcome the opportunity to expand my teaching experience by working with students around the world through educational services like Wyzant and group workshops in person. My subject expertise includes a variety of foreign languages that I speak natively or that I learned during my years of international studies and graduate studies. I have taught foreign languages at all levels in university classrooms.

What makes my teaching style unique is that I incorporate a mix of written resources (news articles), audio resources (online interviews), video resources (video clips), and other visual resources (photo slides) when I teach. I like to mix different varieties of media this way because it helps students develop a multifaceted interest in the topic, which then helps them apply their learning in unique ways as they plan out their careers and entrepreneurial pursuits. I welcome K-12 students, college students, and adult learners who are either going back to school or developing new skills for career and business pursuits. I look forward to working with you!

Knowledge and patient tutor

Dr. Ali was great, he was very patient! He started from the beginning with explaining how to do each problem. I will definitely be using him again and would recommend him to anyone in need of a tutor.

Knowledgeable and passionate tutor

Dr Ali was very knowledgeable about the subject (ap world history). He covered and explained the whole topic thoroughly. I would recommend Dr Ali to other students.

Yuri, 1 lesson with Dr Ali H

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

I had a gerontological assignment that I thought was real difficult that involved budgeting. However, Dr. Ali broke down the assignment in such a way that was understandable that I was able to complete it with a little more confidence than I had when we first began to go over the instructions together. He's very informative, communicative and goes above and beyond his role as a tutor. Knew I had to ask him for help again after he delivered on our first session. Five stars and then some.

Dr. Ali was thorough, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I went from being completely lost to well directed and confident. I look forward to working with him again. The best tutor I have found on Wyzant.
