I have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Psychology. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. I also have special teaching licenses in TEFL and TESOL. I have been tutoring for 15+ years all grade levels and subjects, Mathematics, Sciences, Social Studies, and Language Arts. In my experience, no two students are alike, and I'm able to identify unique needs, to help each student progress. Students find me patient, kind and fun to work with. Regarding ESL tutoring, I have a deep understanding of the science and research behind the way English as a second language is learned. I also train teachers on state-adopted ESL materials, so I have access to great resources. I love technology and enjoy using it as a tool for my work. I'm flexible and can adapt to the way each student learns best.
My greatest passion in life is teaching. I have experienced great success in my academics, due to amazing and unforgettable teachers. This is the foundation of my commitment to help my students, whatever their abilities may be. Education has allowed me to find what I am passionate about. My goal is to help my students gain that same opportunity through tutoring.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I am currently an Algebra 1 and 2 private tutor and have over 15 years experience. I teach the subjects five days a week online. I focus on two key areas. First, I look to fill any gaps so your child has a strong foundation on which to build. Second, I work to help your child learn and master the new concepts that arise each week. The goal is to ensure that your child has mastered the material, and is prepared for important tests, quizzes, and other assignments. Algebra is often the first mathematics subject that requires extensive abstract thinking, a challenging new skill for many students. Understanding algebra is a key for success in future mathematics courses, including geometry and calculus.
Common Core

Common Core

I implemented the New Jersey Success plan that increased student achievement and attendance rates over a two-year period, and successfully implemented common core curriculum and benchmarks. I introduced the Common Core model to students K-5 which is separated into stories, poetry, and informational texts. Also, introduced the Common Core model to students 6–CCR which is divided into English language arts (ELA), history/social studies, and science, mathematics, and technical subjects, with the ELA texts further subdivided into stories, drama, poetry, and informational texts.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I've taught multiple curricula including mathematics, science, and literacy, incorporating Common Core and state standards into lesson planning. Enthusiastically I've delivered my lessons in a K-6 resource room with both pull-out and push-in programs. I've assessed students using Woodcock-Johnson and Brigance Inventory of Early Development. I can effectively diagnose my students learning process and difficulties and provide evaluative feedback to students including prescribing ways to maintain progress and overcome difficulties.
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

I have a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics with a minor in Psychology. I also hold teaching certificates in TEFL and TESOL. I have been tutoring and teaching ESL for over 15 years in various settings —from teaching in classrooms, private tutoring, and home settings. I have a deep understanding of the science and research behind the way ESL is learned and I utilize strategies centered on the latest research-based instruction to effectively capture the interest of my students. In my experience, no two students are alike, and I'm able to quickly identify unique needs, to help each student progress quickly! Education has given me the opportunity to find what I am passionate about, and I hope to help others gain that same opportunity through teaching.
